Privacy notice

Effective 27 September 2026

3 Worx IT and Media Solutions (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2018/631179/07), trading as 3 Worx Solutions, operates 3 Worx Connect from Roodepoort, Gauteng, South Africa. This notice explains how we handle personal information for the connectivity services on connect.3worxsolutions.com. We are the responsible party under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to check coverage, quote, provide a service, bill for it, and meet the law.

  • Identity and contact details: your name, South African identity number or passport number, and, for a business, the entity name, registration number and VAT number. Also your email address, mobile number, telephone number, and installation and billing addresses.
  • Documents for activation or RICA: identity documents and proof of residence when a service, especially a SIM, cannot be activated without them.
  • Account and payment details: banking details for a debit-order mandate, transaction history, invoices and the status of your account.
  • Service and network details: IP addresses allocated to the service, MAC addresses, router connection logs, bandwidth use, signal diagnostics, and the address coordinates we need for a coverage or feasibility check.
  • Website details: pages you visit on connect.3worxsolutions.com, cookies, browser type, device identifiers, referring addresses and session information.

How we collect it

You give us information when you ask for a coverage check, request a quote, send an enquiry, or contact support. Technicians and last-mile partners collect premises information when they are on site for a survey or an installation. We also collect technical information from this website, from server logs, from network management tools, and from cookies that the site needs in order to work.

If you message us on WhatsApp, that channel is an additional way to contact us. WhatsApp and Meta process those messages under their own terms.

Why we use it

POPIA section 11 allows us to process personal information on the grounds below.

  • Contract. To take steps before we enter a contract, and then to perform it: coverage and feasibility checks, provisioning, installation, router configuration, billing, invoicing, collecting amounts due, managing the account, and sending operational messages about the service.
  • Legal obligation. To comply with POPIA, RICA, tax law, ICASA rules, and any other law that applies to the service.
  • Legitimate interest. To monitor network quality, troubleshoot faults, run diagnostics and manage bandwidth, and to send operational notices where consent is not required. We do this only where your interests do not override that interest.
  • Consent. Where we ask you for it, including electronic direct marketing to someone who is not already a customer.

Who we share it with

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We share it only where that is needed, and the recipient must keep it confidential.

  • Network partners, strictly for coverage checks, provisioning and support: Openweb, WIRUlink, Switch Telecom, and the relevant fibre network operator or mobile network. They handle that information as operators or responsible parties, and they are bound to keep it confidential.
  • Providers who bill, collect a debit order, send an SMS, or host the systems we use to run the service.
  • Regulators, including ICASA, and law enforcement, when the law requires us to disclose the information.
  • A buyer of the business, if the sale happens, with the same privacy safeguards.

WhatsApp

You can contact us on WhatsApp at +27-69-257-3045. Messages you send there are processed by WhatsApp and Meta under their terms, as well as under this notice for the copy we receive.

Information stored outside South Africa

Some cloud hosting or software providers may store personal information outside South Africa. Under POPIA section 72, we do that only where the recipient is subject to adequate protection, or where you consent.

Direct marketing

Under POPIA section 69, we send electronic marketing to someone who is not a customer only if they have opted in. If you are a customer, you can opt out at any time. Every marketing message includes a way to opt out.

Security and compromise

We protect personal information with measures appropriate to the service, including encryption in transit, limited access, firewalls and monitoring. No method of storage is perfectly secure.

If your personal information is compromised, we will notify you and the Information Regulator, as required by POPIA section 22.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it to provide the service, to meet a legal or tax requirement, or to handle a dispute. We then delete it, destroy it, or de-identify it. Billing records are kept for as long as tax law requires, generally five years. RICA and communication-related records are kept for as long as the law requires.

Children

These services are not directed at anyone under 18. An account must be opened by an adult. Please do not send us a child’s personal information.

Your rights and PAIA

You may ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you, and you may ask us to correct it. Where we rely on legitimate interest, and no law requires us to keep the information, you may object or ask us to delete it. You may opt out of direct marketing at any time.

You can also ask for access to a record under the Promotion of Access to Information Act by contacting us at [email protected].

You may complain to the Information Regulator if you believe we have not handled your information properly.

This website uses cookies for the session, for preferences you set, and for statistics about how the site is used. You can block cookies in your browser. If you block cookies the site needs in order to work, some pages or an order request may not work properly.
